On 1st July BMW Motorsport started a new era: Head of all BMW Motorsport projects from 1999 to 2011 - Mario Theissen - has gone to rest.
Many of us know them as a director of the most successful squad in a FIA WTCC.

BMW has came in touring car racing with him. Who knows, if he wouldn't started a project with BMW in European Touring Car Championship, what would do more than 60 drivers all around the world who tasted a success with this ultimate racing machine?
Anyway, BMW came and gone from Touring Car Racing with him, and all of us will remember them as a man, who was giving us thrilling races in FIA WTCC for more than 5 seasons.
Who will replace them? - Jens Marquardt. He is a new motorsport director in BMW. His targets at the moment are DTM and Endurace racing. Many of You will agree with me that this is not the best way for BMW. As Marchello Lotti said "BMW's place in touring cars". Maybe one day Jens will please us and say that at least BMW Team will come back to FIA WTCC?
Well, the only thing we can do at the moment is to wish to Mario all the best, and hope that one day Jens will announce BMW's return to FIA WTCC.
